La Rioja
Explore Rioja Alta from Haro itself, from the epicentre of enotourism… A city in the northwest of Rioja known for its rich history and tradition in the world of wine. Add to this our gastronomy and our culture of sharing. All this together makes us the perfect place to get lost, discover new flavours and let yourself go.
Rioja's wine Capital
Haro is known worldwide for its wines and for being the Capital of Rioja. The past and present are shaped by tradition and know-how, where traditional winemakers live side by side with new generations who create new ways of working with wine.
Here, the day-to-day runs between barrels, nuances, kilometres of vineyards and fruity and balanced flavours on the palate. The quality of the wines and the number of wineries in this area is unique.
We must add to this its gastronomy. Restaurants where good food is an art form and gastronomic routes where you can discover the flavours of this land.
Culture, history y traditions
Rioja is a mosaic of culture, art and traditions and Haro is the perfect place from which to discover it. Cradle of the Spanish language and crossroads of roads and cultures, all the peoples of the peninsula have left their historical legacy in this land.
With a beautiful historic quarter and a medieval legacy still present, Haro preserves buildings and points of interest of great cultural and historical relevance. Visit the monasteries of Suso and Yuso, discover the Romanesque route. Attending the Actual festival or the Wurth museum are essential events.
Festivals are a vital part of our identity and in June Haro celebrates one of the most famous: the Wine Battle. Do you need any more excuses to come and see us?
Nature in Rioja
Haro also offers options for enjoying nature. Here, forests merge with vineyards and we can discover these landscapes while walking or playing sports.
Take the Odón Route along the meander of the River Ebro, take pictures of the vineyards in all their splendour during the summer and autumn months… Climb San Lorenzo or visit the Sierra de Cebollera Nature Reserve. A thousand places that hide the natural wealth.
You can also go on foot or by bicycle or take one of the motorbike routes that will allow you to get to know Rioja at greater speed. And if you dare to fly, what better than a hot-air balloon to get a different perspective of this land. Are you up for it?
